How to Use BROVANA

BROVANA® (arformoterol tartrate) Inhalation Solution is taken twice a day (morning and evening), and is for long-term use.1 Each ready-to-use vial contains one 15 mcg dose of medicine that is used with a standard jet nebulizer.1 This compressed-air device converts the liquid medicine into a fine mist. The medication is then inhaled by breathing normally through a mouthpiece or mask.1

Store BROVANA in the protective foil pouch under refrigeration at 36°-46°F (2°-8°C). Protect from light and excessive heat. After opening the pouch, unused ready-to-use vials should be returned to, and stored in, the pouch. An opened, ready-to-use vial should be used right away. Discard any ready-to-use vial if the solution is not colorless. Unopened foil pouches of BROVANA can also be stored at room temperature 68°-77°F, (20°-25°C) for up to 6 weeks. If stored at room temperature, discard if not used after 6 weeks, or if past the expiration date, whichever is sooner.1

BROVANA is easy to use. It only takes about 5 to 10 minutes.1 Use BROVANA exactly as prescribed. One ready-to-use vial of BROVANA is one dose. The usual dose of BROVANA is 1 vial twice a day (morning and evening) breathed in through your nebulizer machine.1 Take each dose about 12 hours apart and do not use more than 2 vials a day.1 If you miss a dose of BROVANA, just skip that dose and take the next one at your usual time.1

BROVANA should only be taken with a nebulizer machine connected to an air compressor. Make sure you have a jet nebulizer (also known as a compressed-air nebulizer) and matching air compressor, rather than an ultrasonic nebulizer (which uses high-frequency acoustical energy to create vapor).1 To learn more about how to use your nebulizer, click here. If you still have questions, talk with your doctor or respiratory therapist.

Be sure to read the Medication Guide provided with each package of BROVANA. Do not mix BROVANA with any other medications in your nebulizer1 and don't take BROVANA if you are using any other medicines that contain a long-acting beta2-agonist.1 Do not use your short-acting beta2-agonist medicine on a regular basis (4 times a day).1 Be sure to carry a short-acting bronchodilator with you at all times in case you have breathing problems between doses of BROVANA.1 If you need to use your short-acting bronchodilator more often than usual or it does not work as well at relieving symptoms, or if your breathing problems worsen with BROVANA, call your doctor right away.1 Do not change or stop any of your medicines to control or treat your COPD breathing problems. Your doctor will adjust your medicines as needed.1
