How to clean your jet nebulizer

Be sure to follow the cleaning, disinfection, and storage instructions that came with your nebulizer system. You can also use the following tips:

Cleaning a Jet Nebulizer
  • After each use, rinse the nebulizer cup and mouthpiece with warm water and let it air-dry
  • Once per day, you may add mild dish soap to the cleaning routine above
  • You can ensure all the parts are dry by running air through the machine for about 20 seconds
  • Take the nebulizer apart and keep it in a protected area until you use it again
  • Once or twice each week you may soak the cup and mouthpiece in 1 part vinegar, 2 parts warm water solution
  • Keep an extra nebulizer cup and mouthpiece or mask handy in case you need them
  • You will also need to change the filter. The instructions that come with your nebulizer will tell you when you should change the filter

It’s important to clean a nebulizer regularly to help prevent the growth of bacteria.
